Liverpool transfers: Premier League rivals interested in Wataru Endo
Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo is on the list of Premier League side West Ham United.
That is according to The West Ham Way who have stated that Julen Lopetegui is after some more midfielders as he shapes together his new side.
The Hammers have had a busy summer already as they have signed Max Kilman from Wolves to boost their defence and Wes Foderingham from Sheffield United for more depth in goal.
As well as those two Lopetegui managed to convince Brazilian youngster Luis Guilherme to join from Palmerias. He isn’t planning on stopping there though as Endo is one of several midfielders who he may be working with before the window ends.
ENDO THE SIGNING WEST HAM OWNERS WANT
According to the report West Ham sporting director Tim Steidten is a fan of the Japanese midfielder. This is because Steidten used to work in Germany when Endo was at Stuttgart and he seemingly caught his eye.
Another reason why West Ham could favour targeting the 31-year-old over other midfield targets is due to owner David Sullivan. He apparently wants to sign an Asian player for marketability purposes.
Endo had a fine debut season overall under Jurgen Klopp as he played 44 games in all competitions. He was signed as a stopgap in the midfield after Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia rejected the chance to move to Anfield.

The midfielder seemed to struggle though when Liverpool faced Real Betis in their first pre-season friendly in the USA.
After that game, there were reports about Ligue 1 side Marseille having a bid rejected for his services as the amount was too low.
So that would hint at the fact that Endo could be available for the right price but Arne Slot is determined not to weaken his midfield in the summer window.
N’golo Kante has also been another name linked with West Ham so any offer for Richard Hughes to possibly negotiate may depend on if they can sign the former Chelsea man.
