Liverpool’s activity in the transfer window was seriously questioned this summer with the Reds being unable to fill the evasive number six position.

Liverpool tried to fill the role, but a deal for Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad fell through. However, Ryan Gravenberch has taken up the responsibility to play in a deeper role and has so far proved a worthy candidate.

The signings of goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from Valencia (loaned to Valencia for the remainder of the season) and forward Federico Chiesa from Juventus silenced the critics who were becoming sceptical of Richard Hughes and his team's movements.

But fans will be ecstatic to learn of one more signing that has recently been announced.

The Reds have been lucky enough to gain the services of 16 year old wonderkid Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea.

The young starlet had been linked to top European clubs around the world, after being unable to agree a new contract with Chelsea.

Liverpool quickly swooped in and agreed a deal to sign him. The deal has actually been in place since July, but the process of signing him was delayed. But the winger confirmed on his Instagram that the move was complete.

Ngumoha is expected to join up with the Under-18s, but there is a sense he will be fast-tracked through the youth teams, much like Trey Nyoni last season.

Yesterday, journalist Fabrizio Romano on Instagram also officially confirmed the signing calling Rio a “top, super talent” and a “long term project”

Former Chelsea defender John Terry then commented on the post saying “this boy is, and will be a top player”.

Earning praise from such a decorated footballer such as Terry will thrill Liverpool fans who are eager to see the progression of this star and his involvement within the squad.
