Liverpool still interested in contract REBEL Rabiot after Zubimendi snub
Following Liverpool’s well-publicised chase of Martin Zubimendi, a different long-term target is still available on a free - and the Reds are believed to be making a decision.
According to a report in the Mirror, Liverpool are still interested in midfielders now that their Zubimendi chase is at an end. Arne Slot and Richard Hughes are alleged to be targeting another player - someone linked with the Reds for a while now.

Versatile French midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been at Juventus since 2019, coincidentally also signing on a free transfer. Allowing his contract to run down in Turin, Rabiot now finds himself in the same position as five years ago, and it is believed he has long held an interest in playing Premier League football.
Having once played for Manchester City at youth level, it is their bitter cross-city rivals Manchester United with whom Rabiot has been most consistently linked for some time now, although it was reported two months ago that Liverpool had been in contact with the 29 year-old’s representatives.
It was believed then that Rabiot may well have been waiting for an offer from Real Madrid, which has evidently not materialised. These latest reports suggest that Arne Slot believes someone of Rabiot’s profile would add a level of experience to what is a very young midfield, barring of course Wataru Endo.
Rabiot and Koopmeiners linked
Therefore the same report suggests that were Rabiot to join, Endo would then be free to leave with Liverpool already having received offers for the Japanese captain in this transfer window.
With Zubimendi out of the running to arriving at Anfield, there are still two more names in the frame for a midfield arrival.
Rabiot is an attractive free option while the Reds are also thought to be in a good position to snare Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners.
