Liverpool could lose a legendary player very soon with two European giants believing he’s open to a transfer.
Fichajes in Spain understands that Virgil van Dijk could swap Liverpool for Italy. The Dutchman is out of contract in the summer, with little suggesting that a new one is imminent.
That has Inter and Juventus both watching Van Dijk's situation closely. They're shaping up to be the 'main candidates' for his next destination - should no new Merseyside contract arrive.

Liverpool do want Van Dijk to re-sign with them, however. That would at least tell us that an offer is on the way, though it's completely unclear whether the Reds' captain is up for committing his long-term future to Anfield.
After all, this is likely to be the last major contract of his entire career.
Virgil van Dijk's future
What we will say, however, is that Fichajes is not a reliable source on this one. This is more a sign of what's to come over the next few months - all kinds of speculation from all over the place as names are put into the race.
Van Dijk could leave Liverpool. We don't believe that Fichajes will have the scoop on that, nor is it obvious at all that Italy would be his next move.
In fact, it's hard to believe that either Italian giant could pry Van Dijk away from Liverpool. He's not getting kicked out of the first XI anytime soon, while neither club boasts the financial power to move the Reds out of the way.
So we wouldn't advise anyone to worry just yet. Van Dijk's contract is one of the three biggest decisions sitting on Richard Hughes's table and the Dutchman won't, says Fabrizio Romano, make any decisions until he's had proper talks with Liverpool.
This one still has a way to run, then.
