Here’s all the latest Liverpool transfer news as the Reds maintain an extreme stance on Jarell Quansah.

Liverpool transfer news is hard to come by at the best of times this summer. It's especially difficult after a matchday.

The Reds beat Arsenal in the early hours of Thursday morning, dominating the news for the rest of the day. As a result, we're no closer to knowing who they'll sign this summer.

Or sell, for that matter.

One player who won't be involved in a deal, though, is Jarell Quansah. We've got an update on Liverpool's stance with him, as well as a player who won't be joining - Dani Olmo.

We also have a new kit launch this morning. The new away shirt will be live on the Liverpool website here at 8am.

Here's the latest.

Liverpool take strong Quansah stance

Liverpool have shown their true thoughts on one of their up-and-coming talents with an extreme transfer stance. Jarell Quansah is set for the top.

It's been reported this summer that Newcastle United asked about signing Jarell Quansah from Liverpool. That was a part of the deal to get Anthony Gordon to Anfield - a move that failed in the end.

Liverpool, though, were never going to include Quansah in the deal. While something was actually agreed involving Joe Gomez, it appears Quansah was completely off the table.

The Athletic reports that Liverpool's stance on the 21-year-old is that he's not available 'at any price'. They're not willing to deal Quansah at all, and it's a stance that shows just what they think about the centre-back.

Olmo to Barcelona

One Liverpool transfer target has reportedly agreed a move elsewhere. A £50m bid is now and the Reds won’t be getting their man.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Dani Olmo has said yes to Barcelona and has agreed on terms for a return to Catalonia. Olmo used to play in Barca's youth system before departing for Dinamo Zagreb 10 years ago.

Barcelona have wanted him back for some time, though, and they've pushed for a deal this summer. Terms are now agreed and while RB Leipzig have rejected two offers so far, a third is now in.

Romano explains that the deal is worth roughly £50m guaranteed, with a further £5m in add-ons. It remains to be seen if Leipzig will accept this one - but it's all moving in one direction now.

And it's a direction that doesn't see Olmo end up with Liverpool. The Reds have been consistently linked with the player for a while now, with talk that Arne Slot had requested the player.

That was followed with further talk that Liverpool were going to pay Olmo's release clause before it expired earlier this month.

Neither happened, of course, and it appears that Barcelona will seal this transfer. Liverpool will need to move on - if they truly were hoping to sign Olmo.

Gomez / Gordon swap

Newcastle’s willingness to offload one of their big stars for PSR purposes to Liverpool has raised concerns about whether Arne Slot’s side have missed out on a transformative deal.

The deal in question would’ve seen longest-serving player Joe Gomez move to Tyneside in a swap deal.

Gomez, whose versatility has proved invaluable in recent seasons, is open to a new challenge in his hunt for regular first-team football.

In a summer that has seen Liverpool be the only team in Europe’s top five leagues yet to do any business, Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon has been a mainstay when it comes to players linked with a move to Anfield.

Initial links began when the Magpies approached the Anfield club whether they had interest in either Gordon or Alexander Isak for PSR purposes but £100 million price tags were soon dismissed by the Reds.

Newcastle then asked about the possibility of a move for 21-year-old talent Jarell Quansah, whilst also dropping the asking price for Gordon down to £80m, but again Liverpool were quick to snub these requests.

Klopp approached on day one

Jurgen Klopp couldn’t believe the phone call he received just one day after announcing he was to leave Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp says he received a phone call just one day after announcing his planned exit from Liverpool. It was a phone call he wasn't expecting - mainly because it suggested people weren't entirely listening to what he was saying.

Klopp has been clear since day one that he'd take a break from football after leaving Liverpool. That hasn't stopped him from receiving offers, however.

The USA quite publicly made contact this summer, while he was rumoured for the England job before ruling himself out of it.

But that's just the latest of it. Klopp has revealed that he actually got a phone call the dayafter his announcement, making him wonder if people heard him when he said he wouldn't take another job for a year.

"At the moment, there is nothing at all in terms of jobs. No club, no country," he told the Coaches' Congress in Wurzburg, per Sky Sports.

"It doesn't matter who calls: In my resignation statement, I said that I wouldn't coach any country or club for a year. Some people must have missed that part.

"The very next day, someone called, and I said, 'Are you crazy? I just explained that yesterday'."
