Here's our Liverpool FC transfer news roundup for Monday February 5, 2024 with updates on Kylian Mbappe, Leroy Sane and much more.
The January transfer window is closed - and while Liverpool remained unsurprisingly inactive throughout the month, the rumour mill will never stop spinning.
With Jurgen Klopp heading out the door, there's scope for a big shakeup in the Reds squad come the summer.
So with that, here are the latest names that are being linked with a move to Anfield.
Kylian Mbappe (finally) 'makes his decision'
Claims that Kylian Mbappe is Real Madrid-bound appear to have been further ratified.
Liverpool have long been linked with the French talisman - but yesterday, Le Parisien claimed that Mbappe had made his decision to join the Galacticos come the end of the season.
ESPN have now backed up these reports, with the striker expected to make the switch in the summer.
PSG will now "follow their Plan B" and make a move to sign AC Milan's Rafael Leao as a replacement.
Leroy Sane snub
Leroy Sane is set to be in line for a contract extension at Bayern Munich, which would all but end Liverpool's hopes of signing the winger in the summer.
The turnaround in contract negotiations are said to be down to a change in agents on Sane's behalf, with Thomas Tuchel now steadfast on keeping the German at the club, seeing him as 'absolutely key' to his future plans.
Jurgen Klopp 'off the list'
Barcelona have taken outgoing Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp off the list of potential candidates to succeed Xavi at the end of the season.
The current Liverpool boss has been linked with taking over at Camp Nou, but El Nacional have now stated that this would be impossible to the German's desire to take at least a year off from management.
They add that fellow Premier League managers Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta and Roberto De Zerbi are the three leading candidates selected by the Blaugrana board.
This one was never going to happen.
