Liverpool target to LEAVE Premier League club and become free agent this summer
Reported Liverpool transfer target Tosin Adarabioyo will definitely leave Fulham and become a free agent this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
While there remains uncertainty over Liverpool's transfer plans this summer given Jurgen Klopp's departure, the Reds are expected to be in the market for a centre-back regardless of their next coach - which is almost certainly going to be Feyenoord's Arne Slot.
With Joel Matip leaving for free this summer and Virgil van Dijk turning 33 before next season begins, the Reds need to reinforce their backline soon.
They have been linked with a whole host of central defenders, including Adarabioyo, whose contract with Fulham runs out this summer.
It was expected that the 26-year-old would leave the Cottagers, but transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Adarabioyo will become a free agent after rejecting contract offers from the west London side.
LIVERPOOL AMONG THE SUITORS FOR TOSIN ADARABIOYO
Writing on X, Romano revealed that a number of clubs are interested in Adarabioyo's services, with the former Manchester City man having rebuffed Fulham's recent contract proposals.
The journalist wrote: "Tosin Adarabioyo will leave Fulham as free agent at the end of the season as he’s already informed the club. Final decision made.
"Despite new contract proposals, Tosin decides to leave and he will be available as free agent with several clubs keen on signing him."
Liverpool may be one of the clubs circling the defender and he would prove a cost-effective piece of business given he would be available for absolutely nothing - excluding his wages, bonuses and any signing-on fees, of course.
However, the likes of Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United have all been touted with interest in the past, as well as the likes of Milan in Serie A.
Adarabioyo will have his pick of suitors this summer but Liverpool could do a lot worse than the Fulham star in the upcoming transfer window.
