Liverpool are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush, according to a report in Germany.

Marmoush has been in fine form for the Bundesliga side this season, netting ten times in 20 appearances so far.

The 25-year-old has been something of a breakout star in Germany in 2023/24.

Signed on a free transfer from Wolfsburg last summer, Marmoush — who had never previously scored more than five in a top-flight campaign — has enjoyed his most productive season to date as Frankfurt chase European qualification.

According German outlet Bild, the striker's performances have not gone unnoticed in England, with both Liverpool and Arsenal supposedly watching him closely ahead of a possible a summer transfer.

Both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle have also been previously linked.

The Reds are described as ‘hot’ for the 27-cap Egypt international who also has Canadian citizenship, while, it is also claimed that the forward, whose contract runs until 2027, ‘dreams of England’.

Salah connection

According to Bild, Frankfurt will demand as much as €50m (£42.5m) for Marmoush's sale and the report suggests that Liverpool's 'Egyptian King' could play a role in helping to lure his compatriot to Anfield.

Salah's own future remains yet-to-be decided. The 31-year-old has just over a year left on his Liverpool contract, while he is coveted by the Saudi Pro League.

Anfield Watch understands that the winger is open to extending his contract once again, despite the promises of unmatchable riches from the Middle East. However, his future (as well as any genuine interest in Marmoush) will depend on the decisions of incoming CEO of football Michael Edwards and sporting director Richard Hughes, who will be in charge of squad planning and recruitment.
