Liverpool are reportedly gearing up to make a last-minute move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The club has been in the market this summer for a new wide player looking at various options on the market.

Earlier this summer, the Reds were tipped to sign ex-Everton forward Anthony Gordon but they failed to agree a deal with Newcastle.

The 23-year-old has been on the club's radar for some time with the player having numerous doubts over his future at the Serie A club.

He had indicated that his future would be decided after the Euros however it has been radio silence for quite some time.

Now according to the Football Insider, Liverpool are prepared to make a last-ditch attempt to secure the winger's signature.

With a week to go until the August 30 deadline, Richard Hughes could have a mammoth task on his hands to get a deal over the line.

The Georgian international has three years left on his current deal with Napoli said to be keen to keep hold of their star player who was key to helping them retain their league title.

However Kvaratskhelia's camp are said to be unhappy with a reshuffle of the club's coaching staff and could push for a move away from the Italian giants.

Could Mamardashvili signing be key?

The winger is currently valued at more than £70 million and after playing a pivotal role for Georgia at the Euros, it's easy to see why the Reds would be keen for him to join.

While Liverpool have signed 16-year-old Alvin Ayman, the side are yet to make any high-profile additions to Arne Slot's side.

However, with the Reds closing in completing the signing for fellow Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, could this be a factor to attract Kvaratskhelia to Anfield?
