Premier League sides are now lining up to sign Liverpool's 'special' talent

Premier League clubs are lining up to sign one of Liverpool’s brightest young talents on loan. Should the Reds be open to offers?

The Daily Mail reports that Premier League clubs are starting to gather in attempts to sign Ben Doak on loan from Liverpool. The teenager, who had a difficult time with injuries last season, will have a decision to make.

That's because the report suggests that Doak will have the choice here. If he wants to head out on loan, he can - but he's also able to stay and fight for a place in Liverpool's team.

The latter, of course, is a very difficult task but one that could make his career if he's successful. On the other hand, Doak would find it far easier to break into a team that signed him on loan and there could be valuable experience to be had. Harvey Elliott is a perfect example of that.

The risk is that failing to break into that loan team would set his career back dramatically. Fabio Carvalho can give him some perspective on that one.

Both Southampton and Leicester City are reportedly interested in Doak, meaning he could play for some sizeable clubs if he wanted. Fresh into the Premier League, too, both would offer clear chances to force his way into the XI.

Doak will reportedly sit down with Arne Slot after the pre-season tour and discuss what the plans are. That's when he can request a loan away - so there's a little bit of time to wait here.

As for what we think he should do, a loan makes a lot of sense. Doak could end up with games in Red this season but the Liverpool attack is very strong on the wing. He'd only realistically get starts when Mohamed Salah needs a rest - and that's not very often at all.

The right loan, then, would be a perfect move for Doak. He's a 'special' talent, in Jurgen Klopp's words, and not one that Liverpool can afford to fail with.
