Liverpool stance on Curtis Jones amid Arsenal rumours
Liverpool are not aware of any interest from Arsenal regarding Curtis Jones, Anfield Watch understands.
22-year-old Jones has developed into a key player for Jurgen Klopp over the last 12 months and is arguably now the preferred option on the left-side of the manager's midfield three when available.
The former England Under-21 star has impressed particularly in recent showings, scoring twice in the Reds' 5-1 Carabao Cup win over West Ham and netting in the 4-2 Premier League win over Newcastle on New Year's Day.
Speaking after the latest game, Klopp told reporters: "We all know how good a player Curtis is, he’s technically incredibly skilled, but he finds more and more direction in his dribbling, he gets better out of situations.
"And his pressing, counter-pressing, meanwhile, he sets the level, actually, how it should look.
"I’m really happy with that. It keeps every player in the game."
Some reports have claimed that Premier League rivals Arsenal have taken an interest in Jones ahead of a possible summer move. However, this is wide of the mark.
Those rumours were then fuelled by a report which claimed that Jones used to broadcast his boyhood fandom of the Gunners at the Reds' training ground as a youngster.
Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool are very much the homegrown star's club and that his intention is to keep performing and earning the manager's faith.Even in the event of interest from potential suitors, Anfield Watch has been told that Liverpool are highly unlikely to do business with a direct rival over an important first-team player.
Jones, who has made 19 club appearances in 2023/24, is under contract at Liverpool until 2027.
