Liverpool send scouts to watch Crystal Palace star Michael Olise
Liverpool are closely monitoring Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, according to a new report.
Football Insider claim that the Reds sent scouts to watch the Frenchman in action during Palace's 3-1 win over Brentford, in which Olise bagged a brace.
Olise is said to be on the list of potential long-term replacements for Mohamed Salah, who could depart Liverpool in the summer after seven years with the club.
The 31-year-old Egyptian has less than 18 months remaining on his current deal and is expected to be the subject of strong interest from the Saudi Pro League in the coming months.
Olise came close to leaving Selhurst Park last summer when Chelsea activated his £35m release clause, but opted to renew his deal at Palace instead.
After returning to action from a long-term hamstring injury, the winger has starred for Roy Hodgson's side this season, sitting joint second in the club's goal-scoring charts with five.
That said, he now looks destined for a big-money move this year, with the Blues still interested in his services along with Manchester City.
This will be of interest to Liverpool, who have reportedly been closely following Olise’s progress for five years, ever since he made his Reading debut as a gifted 17-year-old.
He has since made 80 appearances for the Eagles, bagging 11 goals and 20 assists during his tenure in south London.
