A report in Germany is claiming that Liverpool may block a transfer exit for estranged goalkeeper Loris Karius this month.
The stopper's Liverpool career has fallen to pieces in recent years, with it all of course stemming from that Champions League final against Real Madrid in 2018.
Indeed, the German's unfortunate howlers during that game rather sealed his fate at Liverpool with him not playing a competitive game for the Reds since, and he has instead embarked on several loans - often back to his native Germany.
However, he remains on Liverpool's books with a little bit of time left in his contract and according to Fussball Transfers the Reds are not willing to sanction a transfer exit for him this month because they are not willing to pay out on the final few months of his contract.
Anfield Watch Verdict
You have to feel a bit for Loris Karius because his career has really stalled in recent years and he must just be eager to move on from Merseyside and start afresh - more than likely in a new country.
What happened to him on the biggest stage in European club football was just simply a nightmare, and he perhaps might never forget how it unfolded on what could have been his best ever night in the game if it had gone differently.
There's no doubt he'll be leaving the club soon, but it just appears as though a January exit for him, at least according to this report, is unlikely as things stand.
