Liverpool have five players they could STILL sign to replace Luis Diaz this summer

Luis Diaz has been the subject of interest from Barcelona this summer and the Catalans are still keen to bring him to the club, with Liverpool having five ideal replacements.

If there was one high-profile departure from Anfield this summer, it would probably have to be Luis Diaz. The Colombian is a popular figure on Merseyside, however, he hasn't quite produced the numbers his predecessor, Sadio Mane, posted for the Reds.

Diaz may be an exciting player to watch when running in full flow but he's far from clinical in front of goal and that cost the Reds at times last season.

With Barcelona reportedly interested in the Colombian's services, it would make sense for the club to move on from him and bring in a replacement who is capable of producing better numbers.

Liverpool's ideal replacements for Luis Diaz

Liverpool will be looking at a player who is excellent in one vs one situations but who can also provide that final product if they do end up selling Diaz and chose to seek out a replacement.

There are few players like that in world football, but you would imagine Anthony Gordon would probably be the club's no.1 target. Liverpool have already held discussions with Newcastle United over a potential move this summer and it wouldn't be a surprise to see this deal being revisited.

Elsewhere, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would be another ideal target. Liverpool have been linked with the Georgian but it's going to take a gargantuan effort to convince Napoli to sell him this summer. He may be the perfect fit but the chances of him moving are slim this summer.

Spain's Nico Williams though could be on the move and even though it seems like Barcelona will miss out on him, Liverpool definitely have what it takes to convince Athletic Bilbao to sell their prized asset. Having showcased his quality at Euro 2024, few would have complaints if he was identified as the player to replace Diaz.

Another possible target for Liverpool could be Rafael Leao. He has enjoyed a successful couple of seasons at AC Milan and would definitely be an ideal candidate to provide not only speed but output from the left-wing.

Meanwhile, the fifth option could be to bring in Eberechi Eze, who has been really impactful for Crystal Palace playing in an advanced midfield role but is also capable of playing on the left-wing and profiles well for Liverpool.
