Liverpool set Nat Phillips asking price

Liverpool are looking for between £12m and £15m before considering selling Nathaniel Phillips in this January window or any further windows.

The defender has not played much for the Reds this season with the injury crisis that ensued last campaign failing to repeat itself - not that we're overly complaining about that fact of course!

However, it's been tough for Phillips who has had to bide his time on the bench and though we've seen him a handful of times this season, he'd surely have been hoping for more minutes after a really fine year last campaign that saw him earn cult hero status within the club.

Clearly, then, there could be an appetite for him to move on in the transfer market and forge a career elsewhere, with Liverpool, according to the Liverpool Echo, thought to be looking for between £12m and £15m from potential suitors.

Anfield Watch Verdict

The report states that Burnley, Watford and Newcastle United are among the clubs to have all shown an interest in him in recent times and you would not begrudge Phillips a move away if that was to happen.

He helped the Reds out at a desperate time last year and really grew as a footballer, with him adding a composed performance at the San Siro against AC Milan to his showreel earlier on this season.

He's a player that deserves to be playing regularly at a good level, then, but we'll have to see if anyone is willing to meet the Reds' valuation.
