Liverpool led Crystal Palace 1-0 at half time on Saturday and Alexis Mac Allister was replaced by Dominik Szoboszlai during the break.

The 25-year-old had a very quiet first half, offering little to Liverpool's attacks and picking up a booking for pulling back a Palace player.

Dominik Szoboszlai was initially given a rest following concerns that he would be overloaded with minutes in Liverpool's difficult upcoming run but the Hungarian was called upon at half-time to replace his teammate.

It is currently unclear whether the change was due to injury but Mac Allister was pictured looking uncomfortable on the bench just before the start of the second half and some reports have said the Argentinian was seen with ice on his thigh after being substituted.

This is the second time Slot has made a change at half-time, having done the same in Liverpool's opening Premier League match when he swapped Jarell Quansah for Ibrahima Konate.

Liverpool's injury concerns

The Reds have already had some injury concerns this season, Mac Allister himself had already picked up an injury on international duty.

Curtis Jones has also only recently returned from a minor injury and Harvey Elliott is also currently sidelined with an injury he sustained whilst on duty with the England U21s.

If Mac Allister is injured this could be the start of another injury crisis for the Reds who have a very difficult schedule in the run into Christmas.

Liverpool fans will hope that Mac Allister's injury isn't anything serious and that the upcoming international break will give the midfielder time to recover before the Reds are next in action.
