Mido makes extraordinary prediction about Liverpool transfer target Marmoush

The rumours of Liverpool’s interest in Omar Marmoush seem to have legs.

It’s an incredibly exciting proposition. Not only would the signing do nothing to damage the chances that Mo Salah signs a new contract with the club, but Marmoush himself is emerging as a real talent.

At 25, he could be a long-term mainstay at the heart of Liverpool’s attack and deliver on the promise that Darwin Nuñez hasn’t fulfilled in the same position.

The Egyptian connection clearly runs deep. Recently, Premier League cult hero Mido has been weighing in on his compatriots.

Mido on Spurs Salah regret

Speaking on OnTime Sports, the Egyptian said that he previously recommended both countrymen Salah and Marmoush to his former club, Tottenham.

"I sent a text message via phone to Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham, with whom I have a good relationship, to sign Mohamed Salah while he was playing in Basel,” he said, “and I told him that it was necessary to sign Salah because he will be one of the best players in the world.

"The Tottenham chairman replied that he would follow up on the player, and I think he now regrets not signing him," he added.

Mido claims Marmoush will be world's best

On Marmoush, Mido extraordinarily claimed that the forward would also follow Salah in becoming one of the world's best. And given his track record regarding the Egyptian King, the Reds should take heed.

"A year and a half ago, I sent the same message to Daniel Levy, and told him to follow Omar Marmoush, and that he will be one of the best players in the world, but I do not think the club moved to include him."

This is quite the talent scouting by the striker. While it may seem like he’s taking credit for discovering now-talented players before they had emerged, we all know what it’s like when you watch a compatriot play and realise they’re a talent way above the level the rest of the side.

Regardless, it bodes well for Marmoush’s development. The attacker already has eight goals for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga this season, including a brace against Bayern Munich on his previous appearance.

If Liverpool do manage to secure his services it will be a serious coup for the side.
