Jarrod Bowen's name has once again been mentioned in connection with Liverpool, this time by transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano.

The 26-year-old West Ham star has started the season in good form and has four goals in seven Premier League games in 2023/24.

With Mohamed Salah's future beyond this year still the subject of much debate, Bowen has been mentioned as a possible option to succeed Liverpool's record Premier League goalscorer on the right flank.

With Salah's contract only running until 2025 and interest from the Saudi Pro League expected to persist in the upcoming transfer windows, many have speculated that Liverpool could look to cash in on the 31-year-old while they still have a chance to do so.

According to one recent report by The Athletic, the West Ham forward “is a player Liverpool admire and have been watching for a number of seasons” and could be an option in mind when it comes to succession planning post Salah.

Speaking on CaughtOffside’s The Debrief podcast, Romano predicted that the Saudis will return for Salah next year, leading to more links for possible replacements including Bowen, though he admitted that currently 'nothing is happening'.

"I think we will see many links with wingers to Liverpool because of the Mo Salah situation," he said. "We expect the Saudis to return for Salah in 2024.

"At the moment, this is not something concrete yet. Nothing is happening, but I still think in 2024, they will try again and so it is normal to see many links.

"Jarrod Bowen is one of them because Liverpool scouts are usually following some West Ham talented player."

Bowen, like Salah, has less than two years remaining on his current contract and could even prove a relatively cheap option for the Reds from next summer, if he doesn't extend his terms at West Ham.

However, it has been reported that the Hammers are in talks with the former Hull star over a new deal.
