Alexis dazzles against Chile
Alexis Mac Allister was rumoured to be a doubt for Argentina’s World Cup qualifiers, with news spreading that he had suffered an injury which was causing him discomfort and keeping him out of his side's preparation sessions.
This news would have worried Reds fans greatly, with Liverpool's number 10 being such a key player for Arne Slot. However, the fears were quelled when Mac Allister posted a photo of himself back in training, looking sharp and ready for battle, on Instagram.
The midfielder went on to show exactly how important his presence is, scoring the opener in Argentina’s triumph over Chile, with his team comfortably defeating their rivals 3-0. Mac Allister rounded off a lovely team move by slotting the ball into the bottom left-hand corner.
His stats also made for good reading where he completed 88% accurate passes and made 6 successful recoveries.
However, not everything was positive. Mac Allister was substituted in the 79th minute with a suspected knock. Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni is now unsure whether the Liverpool star will be available for the Colombia game on Tuesday.
Alexis posted an Instagram after the game celebrating the win, with no comment on the knock so fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that it is nothing serious.
