Liverpool have made an offer to Leeds United winger Raphinha, according to Sport, as cited by LFC Transfer Room's Twitter account.

The report states that the Brazil international's agent, Deco, has informed teams that his client does not intend on signing a new deal with the Whites and would like to leave at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.

Raphinha's current contract expires in the summer of 2024.

With that being the case, the report further adds that the 25-year-old's agent is dealing with offers from Liverpool and Chelsea.

Raphinha possesses a current market value of €40 million.

Anfield Watch Verdict

Raphinha is a very good player, so we would not be against the club making a move for him.

The winger has scored nine goals and registered three assists in 28 appearances for Leeds United's first-team this season.

Raphinha has also been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.05 across the 2021-22 club campaign.

Former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville is certainly a big fan of the Brazil international.

As quoted by United Transfer Room, the 47-year-old told Sky Sports the following: "He's a top player, I think if they were to go down (Leeds United relegated) then a lot of clubs would be looking at him.

"I know he was left out towards the end of the (Marcelo) Bielsa reign, people saying he was inconsistent, but every time I've watched him I think 'I wouldn't like to play against him'."

But, Liverpool do possess plenty of options in attack. If the Reds are looking to sign Raphinha, it does make us think that perhaps one of the club's senior forwards is leaving in the summer.

It has been reported that one of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino could be sold in the coming months.

We still believe that the aforementioned players still have plenty to offer. Salah, Mane and Firmino are all aged between 29-30, which highlights that their careers are far from over.

We only want to see Raphinha walk through the door to add to Liverpool's forward depth. We don't want him to replace anyone.

Signing a forward probably shouldn't be a necessity for Liverpool right now due to depth already at the club. But, you can never have too many good players on your books.
