‘This has been reported by Spanish transfer news outlet Futbol Total, who have confirmed claims made by Liverpool fan account Talk of the Kop on Wednesday afternoon.

Anfield Watch Verdict

De Jong is a solid player. The midfielder has scored 13 goals and registered 18 assists in 142 appearances for Barcelona's first-team.

De Jong averaged a WhoScored player rating of 6.91 across the 2021-22 La Liga campaign.

The aforementioned figures highlight that the Netherlands international would add some quality to Liverpool's midfield.

De Jong is only 25 years of age. With that being the case, he is about to the enter the prime of his career.

Therefore, we would not be against the club signing De Jong. However, we don't know how true the report from Total Futbol is.
