The South- London born centre- back was rumoured to be returning home, with Crystal Palace allegedly eyeing up the England international.
However, recent developments indicate the defender is set to stay with Arne Slot’s side.
Gomez was pictured in training earlier today as he prepared for a potential return to the starting line- up, ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Old Trafford on Sunday.
Also spotted in training was goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher. The Republic of Ireland international has also found his future hanging in the balance as a result of recent developments, in which Nottingham Forest expressed their interest for the 25- year- old.
Liverpool have thus far rejected Nottingham Forest’s approach, meaning it is likely Kelleher and Gomez will both stay put given the short length of time remaining for the Reds to secure a potential replacement.
Liverpool target gives update on future:
Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi has also been the topic of a potential transfer in recent weeks.
The England international, who impressed for his country at UEFA Euro 2024, found himself caught up in a flurry of rumours linking him to Liverpool this summer.
Valued at £65m by the Eagles, Guéhi attracted interest from both Liverpool and Newcastle United in a move which could’ve seen him swap sides with England teammate Gomez.
However, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has today revealed that the defender is set to stay at Selhurst Park.
Speaking in his press conference earlier today, Glasner declared that Guéhi's situation was “never in doubt.”
“It was very important that Marc stays” stated Glasner. “We were always close and talking a lot. All of the rumours didn't influence his performance, his mood, his professionalism.”
"He always told me he is not pushing to leave Crystal Palace and for me that is the most important thing.”
Liverpool are not expected to make any further business in this current transfer window.
