Alisson explains why Liverpool have made a perfect start under Arne Slot

Alisson Becker believes Liverpool's perfect start to the season is down to every single player's work rate and desire to win.

Arne Slot's reign could hardly have started any better, given the Reds have won their first three Premier League games without conceding a goal.

Victories over Ipswich Town, Brentford and rivals Manchester United see Slot's side sitting second in the Premier League table, on the same number of points and goal difference as Manchester City. The current champions only edge top spot via goals scored.

Alisson has heaped praise on his team-mates, citing their willingness to graft as a factor in the success so far.

"The answer the players are giving on the pitch is unbelievable," the Brazilian goalkeeper told Liverpool's official website.

"The hard work is so good – we have to highlight that. Everybody has the same goal of winning the game, keeping the clean sheet and doing whatever is necessary on the pitch – to defend, to attack, to score goals, create chances.

"So that's why I think we are doing so well at the beginning of the season."

Defending from the front

Alisson went on to wax lyrical over attacking duo Mo Salah and Luis Diaz, who have both flown out the traps at the start of the Slot era.

Salah and Diaz both have netted three times apiece so far but their work off the ball hasn't gone unnoticed by their goalkeeper.

"He [Salah] is a special player but he makes it look normal," Alisson continued. "When you look at his numbers, it's unbelievable.

"The way Lucho is playing as well – his contribution to the team, his goalscoring, his movements, the things he can do when he has the ball.

"But what I want to highlight is the hard work of these guys defensive-wise. They are running a lot, they are working so hard for the team when they don't have the ball – I think this is what is making us win these games at the beginning of the season.

"So we have to keep those things going – not only Mo and Lucho but the other boys as well. Diogo [Jota], the midfielders, the line of four, everybody.

"We are working so hard and this is what should be highlighted from our side," Alisson added.

Liverpool will welcome Nottingham Forest to Anfield on Saturday in a bid to make it four wins in a row at the start of the new campaign.
