Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand recently interviewed Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

The pair of them discussed a range of topics in a 30-minute time slot. During the interview, Ferdinand said to Henderson that he does not get enough credit for the job he does for Liverpool.

The 43-year-old praised the midfielder for his ability to be able to play the ball forward, break the lines and change the dynamic of a match.

As quoted by HITC, Ferdinand said the following to Henderson on BT Sport: “I think that some kids nowadays, it’s all about skills, but you don’t win games without those bits.

"Maybe it’s not fashionable for some people, but it’s needed in a winning team.

"This here, I don’t think you get enough credit for, playing the ball forward, breaking the lines, changing the dynamic of the game, you don’t get enough credit."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool signed Henderson from Sunderland for a transfer fee of €18 million back in the summer of 2011.

Since then, the midfielder has gone on to score 33 goals and register 57 assists in 430 appearances for the club's first-team.

Henderson has also led Liverpool to the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League title and League Cup.

The 31-year-old has ultimately been a superb signing for the Reds. Henderson recently agreed a new deal with the club. The Englishman's contract does not expire until the summer of 2025.

Henderson will always be remembered as a Liverpool legend. His contribution towards the club has been enormous.

In terms of what Ferdinand has said regarding Henderson, we do agree. The Liverpool captain does not receive the praise that he deserves. He goes under the radar.
