"Would not take for granted" - Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Champions League
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has recently spoken about the upcoming Champions League campaign.
The Reds will face Napoli, Ajax and Rangers in the group stages. Liverpool's first game of the tournament is against Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on the 7th of September.
Klopp has said the following about the upcoming Champions League campaign.
"I know that last season did not end in the way it should have (lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid) and football has to do whatever it can to ensure visiting fans are looked after as well as possible at all fixtures, but as a manager I will always be incredibly grateful to those who travel to support us," he told the club's official website.
“This is something we could not and would not take for granted so I wish anyone who is travelling to Naples, to Amsterdam and to Glasgow a safe trip and a positive experience.
“Hopefully, the team can continue to make it worthwhile also. We have had some really special times in Europe and it would be great if we could have some more.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
The Champions League is a great tournament. It's the best against the best.
Since 2019, Liverpool (Jurgen Klopp's team) have played in three Champions League finals. So, we've been pretty lucky to be able to watch our side compete for the biggest trophy in club football in recent years.
However, Liverpool only managed to win one of those finals. The Reds defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Madrid to lift the trophy.
Therefore, we are desperate for Liverpool to put things right and secure another European Cup. But, only time will tell if Klopp's Reds are to reach another final.
