Former Manchester United midfielder Luke Chadwick believes that Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham would sign for Liverpool ahead of the Red Devils.

Both clubs have been linked with a move for the 18-year-old midfielder.

However, Chadwick believes that Bellingham would be more inclined to sign for Liverpool ahead of Manchester United if he was given the choice between the two teams.

“If Liverpool and United are both interested and both make an offer, then I’m sure Jude Bellingham would choose Liverpool,” the ex-Red Devil told Caught Offside.

“They’re closer to the top of the Premier League, they’ve won things under Jurgen Klopp…

“Maybe if Liverpool weren’t interested you’d like to think United would be there or thereabouts, but again you’ve got to be in the Champions League to attract players like Bellingham.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Bellingham is a serious talent. The 18-year-old midfielder has found the back of the net 10 times and registered 16 assists in 82 appearances for Borussia Dortmund's first-team.

Teammate Mats Hummels has labelled Bellingham as the most "mature 18-year-old" he has ever seen.

"Jude is the most mature 18-year-old player I've ever seen. He's already a leader and also one of the most vocal in the team” the centre-back told Bundesliga.com back in September 2021.

“He's a fantastic footballer, and a fantastic guy."

Therefore, we would love to see Liverpool sign Bellingham. We do agree with Chadwick that Anfield is currently a more attractive place to play in comparison to Old Trafford.

Liverpool are competing for major trophies and Manchester United are not.

However, Bellingham will cost the club a bit of money. The Englishman's contract does not expire until the summer of 2025. He possesses a current market value of €75 million.

Bellingham would be worth every penny though, as he is young and very talented.

It has been reported that the midfielder could stay at Borussia Dortmund beyond this season. But, only time will tell where Bellingham's long-term future lies.
