"Will do everything" - Thomas Tuchel makes a prediction regarding Liverpool

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has made a prediction in relation to Liverpool Football Club.

The Reds have had a reasonably successful season thus far despite missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City by a single point.

Liverpool have won the League Cup and FA Cup. But, Jurgen Klopp's side could also add the Champions League trophy (facing Real Madrid in the final at the Stade de France) to their list of achievements on Saturday night.

In other words, the Reds have challenged for the quadruple this season, which is some achievement.

However, Tuchel has implied that he can only see the Reds becoming stronger next campaign in their bid to claim another league title.

“It will be a super tough (Premier League) race (next season),” he said, as quoted by the Daily Mail.

“Manchester United will be in the race, Tottenham will be in the race with Antonio Conte for sure, and we want to stay in the race.

“And Liverpool and Man City will do everything to even make their squads bigger.

“They set the standard so, so high and it will take the same to be competitive next season. While like everybody else tries to close the gap to us…the two top teams are what they are, a benchmark of consistency.

“That’s the situation and from there on we do our very best to be competitive because this is what we want to be.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

We do hope that Klopp and his team add a few players to the squad ahead of next season.

The reality is, the only way to compete with Manchester City domestically is by improving. Signing quality players is the best way to do that.

Liverpool confirmed yesterday that Fabio Carvalho has joined the club from Fulham. Hopefully the signing of the 19-year-old is just the beginning of arrivals for the Reds this summer.
