Why Trey Nyoni is getting Van Dijk ADVICE as Liverpool enact 'careful' plan
Trey Nyoni is generating a lot of hype at Liverpool - and the Reds have a plan for him.
It really feels as though Trey Nyoni will be the next great youngster to come out of Liverpool's academy. The Reds signed him from Leeds United last year and in no time at all, he was generating first-team hype.
Jurgen Klopp was a huge fan and it appears Arne Slot is, too. The Dutchman used Nyoni a lot in pre-season and allowed him to play multiple positions.

The next step is earning a regular spot in and around the first team - but we all need to be patient. Nyoni only turned 17 in June, after all.
Liverpool are certainly being patient. They're making sure Nyoni doesn't train with the first team all that often as part of a 'careful' plan with the teenager.
Liverpool's Trey Nyoni plan
The Athletic claims Liverpool have a deliberate plan in place for Nyoni. It's one labelled 'careful and considered' as the Reds try to mix his first-team involvements with youth football.
Nyoni doesn't feature in every senior training session, nor has he made any competitive appearances under Slot. The idea is the keep the patience - and hope it pays off down the line.
It appears he's getting advice from a key figure, too.
"Captain Virgil van Dijk has offered soothing words and given him some useful advice — as he does to many of Liverpool’s youngsters — about enjoying the experience and finding a way to make an impact," writes the Athletic.
And so we'll just have to wait and see how long it is until Liverpool move their plan forward. The next steps are clear: more senior involvement in training and matches.
Hopefully, that's what we're seeing before the end of the season. Nyoni may still be 17 but he really doesn't look far off.
One of the club's brightest prospects is well on his way to making an impact.
