"Why should we stop believing" - Jurgen Klopp on the Premier League title race
Jurgen Klopp has said that his side should still believe that they can win the Premier League title despite dropping points.
Speaking in his pre-Aston Villa press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp explained that the title race is still on despite Manchester City pulling three points ahead of his side.
"I'm not sure [I told the players the title race was still on] because it is obvious. We both have 3 games to play, my concern is how can we win our games. We shouldn't add on points before games are played. Why should we stop believing?" said Klopp.
"It is very easy to describe our situation. We drew, City won. 3 points and the goal difference changed. But you can look at it differently, we were 6 points behind, they lost and we won. We can decide for ourselves how we see it.
"There are some facts but I try to help the boys see it like me. Perspective is important.
"We have enough time now, we play at 8pm tomorrow, enough time to create a common view [with the players] and that is what we'll try to do."
Anfield Watch Verdict
Even though winning the Premier League title now seems more unlikely than it did before the Spurs result, we can still mathematically win it.
Klopp and his side have produced miracles before and this is the time when we as fans need to get behind the team and give them our full support.
If we fail to win the league then it is what it is. We are still in a Champions League and FA Cup final. We've also won the EFL Cup already.
We're all hoping for the quadruple but a treble is still an unbelievable season that we should all be proud of.
