Why Nottingham Forest vs Liverpool is not on TV

Liverpool know they will finish the weekend top of the Premier League table if they can beat relegation-threatened Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Reds' injury-hit squad has been in fine form over the past few weeks, with five wins on the trot and a Carabao Cup trophy to boast following last Sunday's efforts at Wembley.

Liverpool have made potentially tricky clashes with Luton Town and Brentford look relatively simple recently, winning both games 4-1, and they will be aiming to do the same at the City Ground this weekend.

Forest currently find themselves 17th in the table and just four points off the drop, while the club also know they could face a potential points deduction at some point this season.

As a result, they need to accumulate as many points as they can over the next few weeks, starting with the visit of Liverpool on Saturday.

Unfortunately for fans of both clubs, the game will not be broadcast on TV or live stream in the United Kingdom - much like Liverpool's clash with Burnley in early February.

That's because this Saturday's fixture is a 3pm GMT kick-off that falls within the UK's blackout period, in which no games can be televised in a bid to help support local and lower league clubs.

HOW TO WATCH NOTTINGHAM FOREST VS LIVERPOOL ON TV

Due to the UK blackout, there is no way to watch Liverpool's match live on Saturday, although highlights can be found after the game on the Sky Sports and Liverpool FC YouTube channels, as well as BBC One's Match of the Day at 10:30pm.

The game is also available to listen to on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Outside of the UK, the match will be shown across the globe, with fuboTV holding the rights in Canada and Peacock broadcasting the game in the United States.

DAZN and Viaplay are two of the dozens of platforms showing the match across Europe, while those in South America can tune in on Star+.

beIN Sports and SuperSport are the main providers in Asia and Africa respectively.
