Mo Salah enjoyed yet another stellar year in 2023. Here's where the Liverpool star ranked across Europe for goals and assists.

Mo Salah has starred once again for Liverpool in 2023. But then, he has done every year since he arrived at the club back in 2017.

Salah has been a simply sensational signing, delivering consistently as Liverpool transformed themselves into one of the very best teams on the planet. And in 2023, the Egyptian was arguably the key player in another resurgence.

The winger has played 52 games this year, scoring 30 times and assisting another 19. Salah has truly thrived with the incredible depth up top at Liverpool now - his assist numbers just keep climbing.

In fact, Salah was the only Premier League player to manage at least 20 goals and 15 assists this year.

So that's 49 goal contributions in 2023 for Salah, just shy of one per game. But how does that rank across Europe's top five leagues?

It shouldn't surprise anyone that top of the pile for goal contributions in 2023 was Erling Haaland. The Manchester City star had 56 in 54 games, coming from 44 goals and 12 assists.

Next was Harry Kane. The Englishman's move to Bayern Munich has led to a period of unbelievable form and helped him climb to 53 contributions in just 48 games. That's as a result of 43 goals and another 10 assists.

Kylian Mbappé is in third with exactly 50. He's primarily a goalscorer, of course, and has the second-least assists in the top 10 (8). That leaves 42 goals for those not wanting to count.

And then we've got Salah in fourth. Liverpool's star has 49 contributions in 52 games thanks to 30 goals and 19 assists. That's the joint-most assists of anyone else in the top 10 (along with Vinicius Jr.).

Inter star Lautaro Martinez follows Salah. 37 goals and 9 assists left him with 46 contributions. Though, the Argentine did play by far the most games of anyone else on the list (59). That's five more than the second most in Haaland.

Antoine Griezmann was in sixth (40 in 50 games), two more than RB Leipzig striker Löis Openda (38 in 51). Openda is the only player who changed clubs in 2023, with many of his goals coming for RC Lens last season.

Then is the sole player to not feature at the Champions League level in 2023 - Ollie Watkins. The Aston Villa striker has 37 contributions in 48 games and he's the only player other than Salah to manage at least 20 goals and 10 assists in the Premier League this year.

Rounding things out are Napoli's title-winner Victor Osimhen (36 in 43) and Vinicius Jr (35 in 44). The Brazilian is also the sole player in the top 10 with more assists than goals for 2023.
