Fenway Sports Group (Liverpool's owners) want to get Mohamed Salah's new deal sorted before the January transfer window opens, according to Football Insider, as cited by The Anfield Buzz's Twitter account.

The Liverpool winger is out of contract come the summer of 2023. Journalist Fabrizio Romano has made it clear that the club want to extend Salah's stay at Anfield.

The Egyptian international has said that he would like to remain at Liverpool. However, an agreement is yet to be reached between the two parties.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We would love to see the club and Salah come to an agreement sooner rather than later.

The 29-year-old is a world-class footballer. Salah has scored 140 goals and registered 53 assists in 216 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The winger has also showed no signs of slowing down. Salah has found the back of the net 15 times in 13 appearances this season.

The aforementioned figures highlight that the Reds can't afford to lose the Egyptian international. Salah is irreplaceable.
