Following the 2-2 draw with , in a game that saw Liverpool take a 2-0 lead before the half hour mark, Andy Robertson has given his verdict on the result. Speaking to the press, the left-back said: "We've got to be better than that, we've got to get our foot on the ball, we've got to play. I think too many slack passes started going and they were picking up second balls and they were hitting us on the counter-attack which we also have to stop."

He also went on to say: “In the dressing room it feels like a defeat. There's frustration. We couldn't have asked for a better start, we scored two great goals but we let Brighton do what they were good at.

“We started letting Ads [Adam Lallana] on the ball, we let [Yves] Bissouma on the ball and let them start making runs in behind. They started getting a wee bit confident. At half-time we needed to put it right and we didn't do that.

"I think Brighton were the better team in the second half and they obviously got the goal that made them equalise and they could've had another one.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

The players have clearly been left just as frustrated as the fans after the result, and it’s good to hear Andy Robertson speaking so honestly about the result. The Reds will likely use the draw as a learning curve and a chance to bounce back, starting with the game against Atletico Madrid in midweek.

Jurgen Klopp’s biggest priority right now will be turning draws in to wins after Liverpool’s fourth draw in 10 Premier League games, having already dropped two points against Manchester City, Chelsea, and Brentford.
