"We will not stop chasing" - Jurgen Klopp reacts to Liverpool's 2-2 draw against Man City

Liverpool drew what some considered a 'must-win game' against Manchester City but Jurgen Klopp is not giving up in the hunt for the Premier League title.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the final whistle, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp admitted that City were better in the first half of the game but that his team grew into the game later on.

"City started better, but in the second half, we started much better. City really tried to use a couple of things - smart runs. There was pressure on the passers. When we tried to breathe - bam - the next one came.

"It was like a boxing fight - you put your arms down for a second and you get a massive knock."

Despite heading into half-time 2-1 down, the German gave one of his inspired team talks and within the first minute of the second half, Sadio Mane levelled the scoring.

Speaking about what he said during the team talk, Klopp said that they showed the players the goals they conceded and how to fix them, which clearly worked since Liverpool won the second half and City didn't score again.

"We showed the boys the goals at HT. City had a more direct idea than us - defensively we rushed it a little bit. They defended the second balls better. We can defend better, but it was really intense. Both teams needed breaks in possession."

Klopp also said that his side could have done better but he seemed happy with the result and said that they will have to go again in six days at Wembley.

"We could have done better but we did a lot of moments really well. The intensity of the game was crazy. We meet again in 6 days - it was good fun. I liked it!"

Finally, when asked if he thinks his side can still win the Premier League, the Liverpool manager responded by saying that they won't give up.

"We will not stop chasing. 7 games left."

Anfield Watch Verdict

What a game of football that was. If you are a neutral fan then it would've been so fun to watch, but as a supporter, our hearts were at 150BPM for 90 minutes.

If Liverpool lost this match then the title race probably would've been over but we've given ourselves a chance with a draw.

The Reds definitely have a tougher final seven games but we know City can slip up when they're least expected too, so there's still everything to play for.
