"We will be coming out of the traps" - Rangers man warns Liverpool
Rangers midfielder John Lundstram has sent a warning to Liverpool ahead of tonight's Champions League group stage fixture at the Ibrox Stadium.
The 28-year-old has made it clear that the Scottish Premiership side will be looking for a quick start.
Lundstram further added that he is confident his side can get a result against the Reds.
“We will be coming out of the traps tomorrow looking for a positive result,” he said yesterday, as quoted by Football Scotland.
“At Ibrox, it will be different and with everyone behind us we can do something special.
“The last few weeks have been better, flowing much better and creating chances.
“Everyone believes we can get the result tomorrow. The atmosphere is great within the group. The results haven’t been good enough in the group stage. We need points on the board and we are going in tomorrow to win the game. There is something that happens underneath the lights here. It is special.
“It gives everyone a lift, hopefully, it is more of the same tomorrow. It is great to face top-class players. You have to show them respect but at the same time show them no respect. We have to get in their face and make it tough. At Ibrox, we have to get involved and get the crowd with us early.
“We have to be brave on the pitch and in the stands, no good sitting off this team we have to go for it.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
The Ibrox will be booming, so the Liverpool players will have to deal with not only the Rangers players, but the supporters as well.
However, we are confident that the Reds can get the job done. Liverpool beat Rangers 2-0 at Anfield last week.
Jurgen Klopp's team looked a class above Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side. But, last week is in the past.
If the Reds are slightly off the pace against Rangers, they could be punished. The home team will be looking to play well in front of their faithful.
The game will kick-off at 8:00pm UK time.
