"We were tired" - Jurgen Klopp on celebrating Liverpool's trophy wins

Jurgen Klopp has talked about his side not getting to celebrate their FA Cup trophy win as they would have liked to.

Speaking about having time to enjoy trophy wins in his pre-Southampton press conference, as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account, Klopp said that he enjoyed the party on the pitch but wished the FA Cup final was on the last day of the season.

"Why isn't the FA Cup final the last game of the season? It used to be? That would help with celebrations as well! It's hard when you play a few games later again. It was outstanding though. The party on the pitch," said the German.

"I really enjoyed the long party on the pitch with all the people. That's what it's about. When we stood in our corner with our people. It meant the world to the boys.

"It's really cool. Since we landed back in Liverpool, we were tired, and then we were in the Southampton mood. Nobody came late."

Anfield Watch Verdict

It does feel very weird that the FA Cup final wasn't after the last day of the season. It feels like the FA and Premier League just want to play every game as close together as they can.

Thankfully if we win the Champions League against Real Madrid, then the players and Klopp can celebrate for as long as they want.

If we do claim our seventh European title, then the players will have to be in Liverpool straight after the game as the potential trophy parade is planned for the next day (May 29th).

We thought our sixth Champions League trophy parade was special but if Liverpool can win the quadruple, or the treble, there could be millions of people lining the streets of Liverpool trying to get a glimpse of one of the best sides to grace English football.

Hopefully we can win the final so the players and fans are able to celebrate properly!
