Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has spoken ahead of the club's first Champions League group stage clash of the 2022-23 campaign.

The Reds will face Napoli at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium tomorrow night.

Alisson has implied that he is looking forward to playing on the big stage once again.

"I think when you play a game every three days, it helps you on the consistency because you don't have too much time to think, you only need to have action," he told the club's official website, as quoted by AW on Twitter.

"This is good for us, this is something that we need as a team. It's a big challenge for us, playing every three days, not too much time to rest, but it's the challenge that we want.

"We want to play games, we want to play Champions League big games, we want to play Premier League big games as well, so we are looking forward for that moment. I think we had enough time to train, enough time to prepare ourselves and now we just have to keep on going.

"As I said before, against Everton I saw the team improving a lot in respect of the other games. Obviously the result wasn't the best one, wasn't the one that we wanted, but we are working on that. I'm sure that in the next games the results are going to come."

Anfield Watch Verdict

We love Alisson's outlook. Playing a couple of matches a week can only help the team find some form.

On another note, we can't wait to see Liverpool back on the big stage tomorrow night. There is nothing more special than seeing your team play in Europe's elite competition.

Liverpool have played well in the Champions League under Jurgen Klopp. The Reds have featured in three major finals.

But, Liverpool have only managed to claim the prize once. Back in 2019, Klopp's side beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Madrid to claim the Champions League trophy.

Hopefully the Reds can have another solid run in Europe's top competition this season.
