"We need to try to get consistency back" - Andy Robertson looks forward
Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has said that the Reds need to get "consistency" back in their game.
Last season, the Reds accumulated 92 points from 38 Premier League fixtures. But, the Reds have struggled in the early stages of the new season.
Liverpool have only won two of their opening eight top-flight fixtures. With that being the case, Robertson wants to see the Reds get back to their free-flowing best.
“It’s a massive game, of course it is. We need to try to get consistency back into our game, back into our performance. That’s what has probably been lacking this season,” he said, as quoted by the Mirror.
“(Manchester) City on Sunday will always be difficult, but it has to start somewhere. Against Rangers the result was a very good one and the performance was excellent. We have to keep that going, we have to play with that intensity (all the time).
“If we do that then we will pick up a lot better results. Yeah, City are playing really well this season, but us at our best we can always compete and we have to do that. At our best we know we can cause problems to any team. That’s what we have to do.”
Anfield Watch Verdict
We can't believe how poorly Liverpool have played at times this season. The same team competed for the quadruple last campaign.
With that being the case, we know this Liverpool side are better than what they are currently showing.
Therefore, we are confident that the Reds can turn things around. But, it will not be easy. Form slumps can be hard to get out of at the best of times.
Hopefully the team can turn things around in the near future.
