“We know our qualities”: Sadio Mane backs Liverpool side after Watford win

Following Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of Watford, Sadio Mane came out to reiterate the qualities of the side, and speak about the game. The winger said: “From the beginning we had a very, very fast start and created many chances. We scored five goals, five wonderful goals. I think we deserved to win today. Of course we knew the manager, he was in the Premier League and especially won it.

“But we were more focused on ourselves in training – we know our qualities and how hard we could [make it] for them. It’s what we did for the weekend, we worked very hard and we showed it today. It was just incredible and hopefully we’re going to keep like this.”

It was a ruthless performance, and one that has become synonymous with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side over the years. If they carry on in this manner, not many teams will be able to stop them.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Sadio Mane is looking closer to his best for the first time since the title winning season of 2019/20. He’s constantly amongst the goals, scoring six in 10 games, and looks confident on the ball once more. And that could be the key to any Liverpool success, having another goalscoring outlet to back Mohamed Salah up.
