"We have good relations" - Sadio Mane on Mohamed Salah

Former Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has revealed that he had a good relationship with Mohamed Salah.

Mane and Salah played alongside each other at Anfield between 2017-22. However, the Senegalese winger left Liverpool this summer and joined Bayern Munich for a transfer fee of £28.80 million.

Some people believed that Mane and Salah were always competing against each other to be the club's main man. But, Mane has revealed that was not the case.

As quoted by Anfield Watch on Twitter, he told GOAL the following: "People sometimes say there's a rivalry between me and (Salah), but you know I don't see myself having a rivalry with any player to be honest. We have good relations, we text each other. I think the media always try to (aggravate) things.

"You know I don't just have (relationships) with one player, but with every player I've played with in the world. You can ask whoever you want in the club, or wherever I go. I have good relationships with all players."

Anfield Watch Verdict

Mane and Salah led Liverpool's attack for five years and helped the club win six major trophies. So, its irrelevant whether they got along or not.

At the end of the day, Mane and Salah will go down as Liverpool legends. We will seriously miss the Senegal international.

Mane found the back of the net 120 times and registered 48 assists in 269 appearances for Liverpool's first-team.

The 30-year-old also averaged a WhoScored player rating of 7.29 across the 2021-22 Premier League campaign. Mane is far from done at the top level.

But, he is no longer a Liverpool player. We wish Mane all the very best with his new journey. Once a Red, always a Red.
