Virgil van Dijk has revealed how pleased he is with the recovery and progress that he has made since his ACL injury sustained last season against Everton.

The Dutchman missed nearly the whole campaign last year after a clash with Jordan Pickford back in October, and the Reds soon found themselves in a real hole with Joe Gomez and Joel Matip suffering lengthy injuries soon after.

Indeed, it was a tough year but all three have been far more available this time around, with VVD back at the heart of defence and looking very strong indeed.

And, speaking to Amazon, he has reflected on the progress he has made:

Anfield Watch Verdict

Plenty of players have suffered injuries like this one in the past and it has ruined their careers so you have to give Van Dijk huge credit for the level he has already got back to.

He is a phenomenal player, and one of the key cogs in the Liverpool machine.

Having him back is crucial, and hopefully he never suffers a similar injury in the future.
