The pressure was on Liverpool in 2009 when they travelled to Old Trafford, with an ongoing title race with Manchester United potentially reaching boiling point. 90 minutes later, however, and Liverpool had made the game look pressure-free with a stunning 4-1 victory over the Red Devils.

There would have been concern when Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring from the spot in the 23rd minute. Just five minutes later, though, Fernando Torres stole the ball from Nemanja Vidic - forcing the defender to tumble - before finishing into the bottom corner. A Steven Gerrard penalty, which was followed by a kiss for the camera, put Liverpool ahead before half-time.

A red card for Vidic left United’s comeback chances unlikely, before stunning free-kick from Fabio Aurelio sealed all three points, and Andrea Dossena’s lob turned a comfortable victory into an all-out rout in the second half.
