Victor Osimhen Liverpool transfer gets '100%' confirmation
Victor Osimhen is someone who has been on the Reds radar for a long time.
It was Michael Edwards and Jurgen Klopp who first became enamoured with the Nigerian forward all the way back while he was playing at Lille.

At the time, back in 2020, Napoli were also keen on Osimhen's services and both made strong advances to sign him. Napoli won the race for Osimhen's signature but they used some desperate measures to prevent him joining Liverpool, even 'locking' him in his hotel room.
That is according to Giandomenico Costi, who worked with Napoli's sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli at the Italian side. Costi lifted the lid on Osimhen’s move to Naples in an interview two years ago.
He told Italian outlet Tuttosport (via Liverpool Echo): “The signing of Osimhen is Giuntoli’s biggest masterpiece.
“He [Osimhen] was locked in a hotel for three days. Giuntoli knew Liverpool were interested, and Jurgen Klopp had made his move, but Cristiano spoke to Osimhen in the hotel for three days until he convinced him to accept Napoli."

Osimhen's relationship has changed with Napoli in the five years since ebbing and flowing. In the early years Osimhen became an idol. He played a key role in winning the Scudetto with the Italian giants - their first since Diego Maradona in thirty years.
Osimhen also became the highest scoring African player in Serie A. However, his desire to leave the club had always been clear. The forward has always aspired to play in the Premier League and last summer he made his intentions clear.
Napoli though refused to allow him to leave, asking an extortionate figure from potential suitors, who were unwilling to pay the club's asking price.
This culminated in Osimhen having no choice but to move on loan to Galatasaray, where he has continued his brilliant goal-scoring form.
But his year in Turkey has also weakened Napoli's stance and it means the clubs can now sign Osimhen for significantly less. Anfield Watch understands this figure to be around £50-60m, almost half of the £100m Napoli were asking for him last year.
Anfield Watch also exclusively revealed that Osimhen was a target for Liverpool in January. When Darwin Nunez was being eyed up by Saudi Arabian sides, Liverpool made an approach to sign Osimhen.
The move at the time didn't work out, with the deal being too complicated considering Osimhen still has an active loan agreement with Galatasaray.
But both parties are still open to striking an agreement in the summer.
Liverpool have been admirers of Osimhen for a very long time now. The club has courted him for close to five years and this summer feels like the right time for the Reds to finally get their man.
But don't just take our word for it. This Osimhen to Liverpool news has been green lit by a very reliable journalist in Buchi Laba, who said he is '100%' certain Liverpool will come back in for him in June in a post on X.
