Victor Osimhen has seemingly given green light to a potential Liverpool move and it will be great news for Michael Edwards.

Anfield Watch revealed exclusively that Osimhen was a player Liverpool had identified as an option to replace Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan is expected to leave Anfield for pastures new and Osimhen has been seen at the perfect option to replace the departing striker.

Osimhen is around the same age as Nunez but he has far more proven pedigree and he has shown his quality in several of Europe's top leagues.

Currently, he's catching the eye in Turkey on loan from Napoli and he's expected to leave the Italian side on a permanent transfer this summer.

Osimhen green lights Liverpool move over Saudi Pro League

There has been a lot of speculation about where he would go next. Saudi Pro League clubs are understandably keen on bringing him to the region.

However, it seems like Osimhen does not want to move there just yet. According to TBR Football Osimhen has decided he wants to move to the Premier League.

This pretty much gives Liverpool the green light to make a move for the Nigerian and Edwards in particular will be delighted about this latest report considering how long he has been pursuing Osimhen for. However, it won't be an easy deal to pull off.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and a host of other clubs will also be vying for Osimhen's services.

In the race to sign him, the key for Liverpool might just be that their interest stems back so far and that there has already been previous contact made between the two parties stretching back for many years.

Anfield Watch understands Osimhen has a release clause of €75m but Napoli would be willing to sell him for less even as low as €60m.

That would make him an absolute bargain of a deal for the Reds. When you consider the likes of Isak are being valued at £120m signing Osimhen for basically less than half the price would be the smart option.
