Alexis Mac Allister now doing things his teammate has 'never seen'
Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has been labelled ‘unbelievable’ by a teammate. The Argentine seriously impressed against Brighton on Sunday.
Alexis Mac Allister earned yet more praise after his performance for Liverpool against former side Brighton on Sunday. Mac Allister was instrumental in the Reds' win, including an assist for Mohamed Salah's winner.
His efforts have led to praise from all corners - including from a teammate. Conor Bradley, who also impressed in the game, tried to get across just how good his teammate was after the game.
"He's just an unbelievable footballer," Bradley told Liverpoolfc.com. "I've never seen someone retain the ball so well. He's so calm on the ball and he's so composed.
"He's just a wonderful footballer and he's a joy to play with. I can't praise him enough, to be honest."
Alexis Mac Allister continues to improve
The craziest thing about Mac Allister this season is that he just keeps improving. Or at the very least, he's finding more and more ways to show his ability in-game.
Part of that is Wataru Endo's form allowing Mac Allister to play in his more natural position and away from holding midfield. But it's unquestionable that he's growing into a more influential role in the team.
Enough so that we've got him down as a potential Player of the Year at Liverpool - and that was before his display against Brighton.
The control Mac Allister continues to exert on games, both as a productive player going forward and as someone so comfortable in possession, is becoming invaluable. A Bradley says, his composure is on another level to most, while his all-around game is arguably unmatched in the Liverpool squad.
£35m is now looking like a complete steal and the Reds grabbed one of the Premier League's best midfielders in the summer. As time goes on, it looks increasingly like they grabbed one of the best players, full stop.
