Jurgen Klopp has praised West Ham's Jarrod Bowen ahead of their Premier League clash on Saturday.

Before Liverpool signed Luis Diaz from FC Porto in January, they were linked with a lot of Premier League forwards.

Leeds United's Raphinha was a player talked about a lot regarding a possible transfer to Liverpool in the future.

Another player who was linked with the Reds was West Ham's Bowen, according to The Athletic.

When this report was released, in July of 2021, it was thought that Liverpool could've signed him that summer if Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri left the club.

Only Shaqiri departed that transfer window so a deal for the Englishman never transpired.

However, that has not stopped Bowen from being linked to Liverpool, with a recent report from The Athletic stating that the Reds are still closely monitoring the 25-year-old.

The West Ham winger is having an outstanding season at the London Stadium, scoring eight goals and grabbing eight assists already this campaign.

Only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah (29) has more goal contributions this season than Bowen (16).

Speaking ahead of the Liverpool vs West Ham game on Saturday, Klopp has praised the Hammers winger, calling him 'unbelievable', as cited by Anfield Watch.

“Bowen. What a player he became, unbelievable,” said Klopp.

Anfield Watch Verdict

It's no secret that Liverpool are interested in Bowen. The Reds have been on the hunt for a couple of forwards to eventually replace Salah and Sadio Mane in the future.

Bringing Diaz in was the first piece of the puzzle but Klopp's side could still do with another attacking option, especially if Origi leaves, which is looking likely to happen next season.

Bowen is an unbelievable player and he is proving it this season. Unfortunately for Liverpool, his price has most likely doubled over the past 12 months.

It was reported that Liverpool could've signed the winger for ÂŁ35m last summer. However, with his recent performances that is most likely around ÂŁ55-60m now.

The fact that he is English bumps his price up even more in today's market. The Reds are struggling for foreign squad places as it is and the addition of a homegrown player would help that situation a lot.

Who knows if the Reds will complete a deal for Bowen in the future but he certainly fits all the criteria required for a Liverpool forward.
