Liverpool transfers: Wonderkids could leave on PERMANENT deals

Two of Liverpool's hottest prospects could leave the club on permanent deals before the end of the transfer window.

Much has been made of the club's decision to let some promising youngsters leave the club this summer, with Bobby Clark, Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Blair among those who have been sold so far.

Liverpool are lining up more outgoings over the coming days, with most of those expected to be loan deals for promising academy players, but two of the club's biggest prospects could be set for permanent transfers, according to reports.

The Liverpool Echo say that there is a 'chance' that both Ben Doak and Tyler Morton depart Anfield on permanent deals, with the club tempted to cash-in on them rather than send them out on loan this season.

Morton, a deep-lying midfielder, spent last season on loan at Hull City and impressed during his time in the Championship. However, having spent pre-season trying to impress Arne Slot it's clear he's not in the new manager's plans – especially as he plays in a position Liverpool are actively looking to recruit in.

The potential decision to sell Doak would come as more of a surprise considering he is yet to play much first-team football in his career so far, and that recent loan deals have proven instrumental in raising the value of a number of the club's squad players.

YOUTH EXODUS?

Liverpool have gained a reputation for developing youth in the past couple of years, with Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho both netting the club healthy profits after time away from Anfield.

Since Richard Hughes came in as Sporting Director earlier this year a number of promising players have left the club, bringing in millions in transfer fees.

That money is yet to be reinvested, but with the contracts of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah all set to expire at the end of the season it will need to be used wisely – either to improve their terms on new deals, or to replace three modern legends.

DOES BEN DOAK HAVE A FUTURE AT LIVERPOOL?

If Salah does leave the club next summer Richard Hughes will have a big job on his hands to replace the Egyptian, who has started life under Slot well.

Ben Doak could have a future at Liverpool, not as Salah's direct replacement but as a depth option on the as he is the only other  natural right winger at the club.

Doak joined Liverpool in March 2022 but has had limited chances in the first team due to injuries – a loan might be the most sensible option for all parties at this stage but if funds raised from any potential sale can go towards a big-name signing in the future, it's easy to see why Hughes might consider it.
