James Pearce has given an update about Trent Alexander-Arnold's hamstring injury that he picked up against Arsenal.

Liverpool's star right-back, Alexander-Arnold, had to pull out of England's upcoming international break due to a hamstring issue he picked up against Arsenal in the Premier League.

The injury forced the Scouser out of the FA Cup quarter-final against Nottingham Forest yesterday. Fortunately, his teammates managed to get the job done and secure a spot in the semi-finals against Manchester City.

The morning after the Forest game, The Athletic journalist James Pearce claimed that Trent's injury 'isn't serious', as cited by Anfield Watch's Twitter account.

Pearce has also said that there’s cautious optimism inside the club that if he continues to respond well to treatment then he should be fit for most of that April schedule.

Anfield Watch Verdict

A lot of people thought that Jurgen Klopp could be doing a Sir Alex Ferguson strategy when he pulled Trent out of the England squad due to his suspected injury.

This no way confirms it and no one at the club would ever admit to it but it's very strange that Klopp said Trent would be out for "weeks" and now he could be fit right after the international break.

Even if the German has told a slight porky, there will be no tears from anyone, especially Liverpool fans. The upcoming England games are all friendlies that have zero importance and they just serve as games that players could get unnecessarily injured in.

Liverpool's schedule for April looks crazy with games against Everton, Manchester United, Manchester City twice and a Champions League quarter-final against Benfica. Having Trent back will be a huge bonus for the Reds as he's arguably been our best player this season.

Who knows, maybe Jordan Henderson also picks up a slight injury that keeps him out for a week ahead of England's games.
