Trent Alexander-Arnold who? Liverpool close in on €40m world-class star
There's a world-class winger who looks destined to join Liverpool and replace Trent Alexander-Arnold.
All eras come to an end. That's a fact of life. This existence is only temporary after all, the only permanence is the end.
Liverpool Transfer News Today: Reds prepare RECORD bid as star is READY to join
We all know it but even with that knowledge, the last 12 months have been difficult to bare for any Liverpool supporter.
First Jurgen Klopp, now Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to leave the club.
To make matters worse, he will do so on a free transfer and he will join the club's arch nemesis Real Madrid, who have defeated the Reds twice in the Champions League final during Alexander-Arnold's time at the club.

There's no easy solution to replace Alexander-Arnold. He's irreplaceable. But there is one player who looks pretty much destined to join the club this summer and try to fill that void.
Why Jeremie Frimpong is coming to Liverpool
Frimpong went viral during this international break greeting his international teammate Cody Gakpo in a scouse accent during the Netherlands' training camp.
It seems like for a while now, he's made implicit remarks about Liverpool. He recently revealed in an interview with Rising Ballers that when he was first spotted at grassroots level, he wanted to join Liverpool and only ended up joining Manchester City because his parents didn't want to drive as far as the Reds' training base in Kirkby.
Back in February last year, he was asked about the prospect of joining the Reds and described it as a great opportunity.

“Liverpool? Great club, with the history. That would be great. Who knows what the future holds," Frimpong said as per Soccer News.
Then as per One Football Sports Bild reported on their front page on July 10th 2024 that Frimpong had set his sights on a move to Anfield.
And if we cast our minds back to a clip of the Netherlands training in March 2024, Frimpong joked about scoring the last penalty against Liverpool in the Europa League final as spotted by the Ons Oranje YouTube channel.
“Europa League final, last penalty against Liverpool," Frimpong was spotted to have said.
If it was up to Frimpong, he'd certainly jump at the chance of joining Liverpool based on his previous comments.
Now, if we are taking a look at Liverpool's options, the Reds would undoubtedly jump at the chance of signing Frimpong as well.
Sure, there are some question marks defensively. But offensively, he is a brilliant player. Someone who is all action and who would really give an extra dimension to this Arne Slot side.
In the Bundesliga, he averages the second most sprints (798) and covers more than 10km per 90 minutes this season.
Just a few days ago Bundesliga reporter Christian Falk revealed that Slot has been on the phone to Frimpong recently and that he has an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to leave the club this summer for €40m with his release clause set at that price.
This sounds like exactly the type of frugal move Liverpool would make.
Frimpong is a completely different full-back to Alexander-Arnold. He won't provide the same creativity but he will provide more energy and a lot of attacking ammunition.
He's still a world-class player and one of the best in the position right now.

At this stage it feels almost inevitable that he will be playing at Anfield next season.
