Trent Alexander-Arnold can bag the contract of his DREAMS this weekend
Trent Alexander-Arnold has the chance to prove a major point to Liverpool - and anyone else watching. It could secure everything he's wanted.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is one of the biggest talking points in football right now. His contract expires at the end of the season - in fact, he can agree a free transfer in just two months.
Real Madrid are watching - there's no longer any question about that - while Liverpool are pushing hard to lock down their academy product. Though, we do wish they'd done that a long time ago.

But while Alexander-Arnold is certainly a talking point for his contract situation, he's usually a talking point anyway. Sometimes it's because of his unbelievable creative efforts.
And other times, it's because of his defending. But the latter may finally be put to rest shortly.
Trent Alexander-Arnold's opportunity to impress
The myth of Alexander-Arnold's defending has persisted for some time. He's certainly not the world's most accomplished defender but that recurring idea of the Scouser being a complete reliability the moment a top-class winger comes up against him persists.
That's despite him coming up against several top wingers over his career.
But that's not to say that Alexander-Arnold's defending hasn't improved under Arne Slot. It undeniably has, and people are noticing it. After the meetings with Chelsea and Arsenal, many were impressed with the right-back, who kept some of the league's best at bay.
Now he comes up against Kaoru Mitoma - one of the trickiest in England. Mitoma is having a decent season, too, offering up expected assists at a better rate than in either of his first two seasons at Brighton.
He also beats his man at least twice a game on average - something that could cause Alexander-Arnold problems. But it's also a chance for the defender to prove a point.
Three back-to-back games of handling a genuinely tricky winger? The reputation for being a liability will be difficult to grow, and it'd go a long way to proving the advancements under Slot.
And with that, comes another boost.
The contract talks
Alexander-Arnold is certainly in line for a major contract. If he were to eliminate - or halfway eliminate - the doubts over his defending, however, the Scouser looks like one of the most valuable players around.
His dream contract, wherever it may be, will be on the table. Alexander-Arnold would look like a defensively sound player who's still putting up some of his most impressive offensive numbers.
A truly massive offer would rightfully be on the table.
